Mornings with God

Meditating on Psalm 36:7

“How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God!  therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings” (Psalm 36:7).

Good morning,

This verse jumped off my Bible pages because I was just talking to my daughter about excellence.  Not only does God give us lovingkindness, but the bible says it’s “excellent” (valuable, prized, precious, rare, splendid, costly, glorious, weighty, influential).

When something is valuable, you take extra care with it.  Precious stones aren’t usually kept in a woman’s dresser.  They’re kept in a safer place.  They aren’t thrown around.  They are protected.

Now, God’s lovingkindness deserves the same care and attention.  God’s goodness and faithfulness toward us are indescribable.  It’s just that amazing.  When I think about who He is and all He has done for my family and me, I am in AWE.

His loving kindness is excellent.  It’s superb.  It excels anything anyone has ever given me.  It’s more precious than all the gold in the world.  God’s lovingkindness is all we’ll ever need because all His benefits are included.

As you go through your day, meditate on His lovingkindness toward you.  Take a few extra moments to quiet before Him, close your eyes, and thank Him for His abundant blessings over your life.
