Mornings with God

Meditating on Psalm 32:8

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:  I will guide thee with mine eye” (Psalm 32:8).

Good morning.

I started blogging in June 2016 and started reading a lot of information regarding choosing a niche, target audience, SEO, monetizing, growing my email list, etc.  A lot of what I found was conflicting information.  I decided to let the Lord lead and guide me because He is the God of everything, including blogs, publishing, and business.

Psalm 32:8 is now my go-to verse.  God promises in the verse to instruct me (to give comprehension) and teach me (to point out, show, direct) in the way I should go, and I believe that includes my business ventures.

We cannot separate our personal lives from our professional lives.  The same bible we read for a healthy marriage is the same bible we read for a successful business.  This is also the same bible we read for advice for our ministries.

Unfortunately, many people seek the bible for their personal lives but seek secular books first for their businesses.  I want to write full time.  It would be easy to seek out the experts in my field and apply their advice.  However, I believe God is the ultimate expert and has something to say on the topic.  Before I seek the “experts,” I seek Him, trusting Him to point me in the right direction.

Since God promises to teach us the way we should go and He is all-knowing,  He should be our go-to person for every topic.  Regardless of the advice you’re seeking,  He can teach you things an MBA program cannot.  The question is – are we willing to ask His advice and heed His instructions?
