Mornings with God

Meditating on Psalm 34:1

“I will bless the Lord at all times:  His praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalm 34:1).

Good morning,

I’ve finally gotten to a place where I strive to praise the Lord all the time.  However, this wasn’t always the case.  I remember being a new Christian and watching people shouting and rejoicing in the church.  I didn’t feel what they felt, and I certainly didn’t know God the way they did.  I often left church disappointed, like I didn’t get something I was supposed to get.

One day all that changed.  I can’t remember when it changed or how it changed. I just recall transforming into one of the people shouting and rejoicing in church and outside the church.  My love, admiration, and reverence for God made me WANT to bless Him.

Which person are you right now?  Are you a rejoicer?  If you aren’t, let me encourage you this morning.  We serve an amazing God who has done great and mighty things for us.  He loves us.  He protects us.  He provides for us.  He sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for us.  We’re moved to tears when we think about all He has done; we shout, rejoice, praise, and worship.

Regardless of what you may be going through this morning, I urge you to stop right now and bless the Lord.  Exalt His holy name above all your hardships, challenges, and obstacles.  He deserves your praise!
