Meditating on Psalm 34:8
“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him” (Psalm 34:8).
Good morning,
Have you ever tried a dish that was so delicious you just had to tell somebody about it? Or maybe you went to a restaurant and were so impressed with the meal you immediately went to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to post pictures and tell people all about it.
That’s how I was about my stepmother’s sweet potato pies and my aunt’s homemade rolls. Wow, those pies were delicious. Just thinking about my aunt’s rolls makes me crave them as I’m typing this morning’s devotional. I remember my brother and me arguing over who would take home the most rolls. It got so bad that my aunt would make a pan for me and a pan for my brother because she knew we wouldn’t share one pan.
There’s something else I’ve tasted. I’ve tasted the Lord’s goodness. Wowsers! There aren’t enough words to express His grace, mercy, love, and favor toward us, even toward those who don’t believe. Think about that for a second! Wow.
As you go about your day today, do two things: Meditate on His goodness toward you and tell somebody about His goodness toward them. Tell them, “O taste and see that the Lord is good…”
