Mornings with God

Meditating on Psalm 19:14

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer” (Psalm 19:14).

Good morning.

I wonder how my life would change if I walked in and lived by this verse.  Every day, we intentionally and unintentionally speak words that aren’t acceptable or pleasing to God.  He doesn’t find any delight in them.

We need to change our speech.  We need to remember there’s an audience to every conversation we have, even e-mails, text messages, and other forms of communication.  We need to ensure that we use words of love, peace, and grace.  Words that honor and glorify our Father.

Psalm 51:15 reads, “O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.”  How can we show praise to Him if we’re uttering words of hate, doubt, or anger?

Let’s change our speech today to be acceptable to God, remembering He hears every conversation.
