Meditating on Psalm 16:11
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore,” (Psalm 16:11).
God’s presence was on my mind this morning, particularly Psalm 16:11. Everything I need is in His presence. Joy is there. Love is there. Peace is there. And although we can’t escape His presence (Psalm 139:7), we can certainly try to ignore it, run from it, or not take advantage of the benefits in His presence.
When I think about His presence, I envision a cozy fireplace, a warm blanket, and me snuggled up in His arms – free from fear, distraction, anger, hurt, stress, and every negative influence and emotion. I believe we can experience that kind of comfort when we stay in His presence. His presence is what we need more than anything else. His presence is necessary for our marriages, homes, workplaces, churches, relationships, and hearts. In His presence, we hear from Him. He provides instructions and answers to us. In His presence is the fulness of everything we could ever need. Stay there!
