Mornings with God

Meditating on Psalm 42:8

“Yet the Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life” (Psalm 42:8)

Good morning,

Psalm 42 is one of my favorite chapters of the bible, so I had to include it in the devotional.  Although verse 1 is my favorite verse in the chapter, I was led to write about verse 8 as well.

Can you imagine God’s lovingkindness following you everywhere you go during the day?  God commands His lovingkindness in the daytime.  It’s there at the grocery store, gas station, job, doctor’s office, school, church…absolutely everywhere.

At night, His song is with us, meaning we are so grateful, so overwhelmed with His love, that we bombard heaven with singing His praises.  We should bombard heaven with prayers to God at night simply because of who He is and what He’s doing in our lives.

Let’s take time today to thank God for commanding His lovingkindness.  Let’s be grateful for His presence in our lives.  And then tonight, let’s sing and pray to our Father.
