6 Scriptures to Encourage the Weary Business Owner
I feel a burden in my spirit to write this blog post. I didn’t intend to write anything today, but I know that I have to write this to someone. You are a writer, blogger, aspiring author, photographer, content creator…some type of business owner. You’re new to this game, or maybe you aren’t. You’ve launched your blog, created Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and LinkedIn accounts, and….NOTHING. No one is following you. No one is reading your material. No one is buying your products or services, so you’re feeling let down. Now you’re asking, “God, did you really tell me to do this?”
It’s been 1, 3, 6, 12, 15 months, or more, and you’re not seeing the growth you expected. You do not see the revenue you expected. You honestly thought you’d be able to quit your 9-5 within a year, but now it’s looking like you’ll work there through 2017.
You’re ready to give up, turn off the lights, shut the doors, and forget about it.
Does this sound something like you? Yes? Ha – I knew it!
The funny thing is I’m not talking about you. I’m talking about the range of emotions I often go through with ReeINSPIRED.
You are not alone, my dear friend. Women worldwide experience the same thoughts and feelings; we ask the same questions. Sister, you aren’t the only one bombarding heaven with prayer. We are, too – asking God if He called us to start this blog, business, or ministry.
I want to share a few scriptures that will keep you encouraged and inspire you in life, business, or ministry. Invest in index cards, write these verses on them, and carry the cards at all times so you can combat negative thoughts, and be encouraged through, the Word of God.
Galatians 6:9
Did the Lord call you to start your blog, business, or ministry? If He did, you have the BEST investor of all as your business partner. This verse encourages us not to grow weary because we will reap a harvest if we’re patient. Keep working, grinding, and praying. Your Investor will bring an increase if you don’t give up.
Philippians 4:6-8
Stop being anxious, my beautiful Sister. These verses instruct us to take everything to God in prayer because His peace will “…guard our hearts and minds…” These verses also tell us what to think about. If your thoughts don’t align with verse 8, you need to think about what you’re thinking about!
Psalm 23:4
I know it seems like your business, blog, or ministry will not succeed, but that’s not true. The thought is real, but what you’re fearing isn’t real. It’s a shadow. The lack of growth is just something to test your faith. Listen, I’m sure most bloggers and business owners had a rough start. It isn’t over until God says it’s over. If He called you and you’re doing what He instructed you to do, you will succeed.
Colossians 3:23
I love this verse because it reminds us to work as unto the Lord. Imagine Christ as your client, customer, or blog reader, because He is. Write every blog post as though He’s your reader because He is. Make every business decision as though you’re doing it for Him because ultimately, you are.
Matthew 25:40
Ok ok, I know this verse isn’t talking about blogging, but the principle applies here. You create every piece of content for a person, correct? Then that means you’re doing it for Christ. This verse is one of the reasons why the heart of a Christian blogger or business owner must be right before God! God doesn’t look at the outward appearance (number of followers), He looks at the blogger’s or business owner’s heart (1 Samuel 16:7).
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Do you want success in business, life, or ministry? Then I urge you to learn to give thanks to God in EVERYTHING, even your setbacks, and disappointments. The bible says, “…for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Appreciate every follower. Pray for them. Give thanks to God for every client. When you do that, you are successful because you’re living according to the will of God for your life.
There are many scriptures I could include here, but these five are a good start for your index cards. My beautiful Sister, you are providing value to the children of God in everything that you do. He is well pleased with you. Stick close to Him and trust Him. He will lead and guide you in life, business, and ministry.
Amen? Amen!

Thank you for this. The Lord is leading me through deep waters and I am staying strong in faith that the end of the darkness is near. Persevere. Joshua 1:9
