Encouragement for Christian Writers

If you’re anything like me, you’ve always enjoyed writing but often doubted whether your writing was any good. You probably compared your writing to other people’s writing. You probably walked away from those comparisons with confirmation, in your mind, that your writing didn’t measure up. And so, you either stopped writing or never shared your writing with others. You sat back while other writers published book after book. You stood on the sidelines of life while family members and friends pursued and attained their dreams (whatever they may have been). You questioned what was wrong with you, why you were still stuck in the same place you’d been for the last 5, 10, 15, 20 years.
If you’re anything like me, you probably had a select few people with whom you’d occasionally share some of your writings. Those select people probably said stuff like:
“Wow, you’re really good.”
“Have you ever considered writing a book? You should.”
“You need to write more. I really enjoyed that excerpt you shared with me.”
And you walked away from those conversations thinking, “She’s only saying that because she’s my mother/cousin/sister/best friend/etc.”
Yes, you loved and enjoyed writing but felt your works would always be resigned to your computer’s hard drive or within the many notebooks you’d bought over the years.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve been feeling a pull, an urgency even, to write books and messages designed to exhort, edify, and empower the body of Christ. You have this uncanny ability to find book topics and ideas everywhere. Whenever you walk into a bookstore or scroll through Amazon, you daydream about seeing your name on the cover of a book.
And if you’re anything like me, you tired of daydreaming. You’re ready to make that dream a reality. The Lord has spoken to you, and you know it was His voice, instructing you to write for His glory. You’ve reached a place in your life where you’re ready to share or publish your works, but you’re not sure where to begin. Plus, you’re still struggling with doubt and insecurities about your writing ability.
If this doesn’t describe you, then this blog post isn’t for you.
If this does describe you, if it sounds even remotely like what you’ve been dealing with, then this blog post and this blog in general, are for you.
I’d been asking the Lord to show me how to help women with my blog when He told me to exhort, edify, and empower Christian writers. Exhortation, edification, and empowerment from the Word of God will help any writer overcome hindrances to their writing gifts. Those three E’s will help any writer write through fear and doubt, thereby shining light for the kingdom of God.
When the Lord told me to encourage Christian writers, I questioned how when I was still struggling in those areas as well. He told me that was why He was calling me to the task. I sympathize and empathize with you because I know the struggle.
I’m here to serve encouragement to you, Dear Writer. God has blessed me to teach His Word and I will ensure that everything I write to you is bible-based. We can do this, Dear Writer, because we have the Lord on our side.
So whether you want to start a blog, publish your books, or simply share inspirational messages on social media, I’m cheering for you. I have your back. We can walk this journey together, drawing strength and encouragement from one another.
Are you ready to stop daydreaming? Are you ready to go to the next level? Are you ready to let the Lord use your writing gift?
Let’s GO!
