“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God,” (Romans 12:2).
Any discussion about walking as an Overcomer which fails to include Romans 12:2 is lacking. A changed mind enables us to walk as an Overcomer and Christ constantly renews our mind. Before we came to Christ, our ways of thinking were contrary to Christ’s way of thinking. Our thinking contradicted His in many ways. If we keep those ways of thinking, we will never enjoy the Overcomer’s victory.
When we discuss renewing the mind, think about a renovation project. When God renews your mind through the word of God, you are undergoing a renovation project. Renovation projects require time, money, energy, and effort. Your spiritual renovation is going to cost you time, money, and energy as well. The beauty of this project is Christ already paid the price on your behalf. The only requirement is you go through the process.
If you’re tired of suffering through every trial or test, never gaining or seeing victory or experiencing joy and peace, then allow the Holy Spirit to renew your mind. This renewal is of utmost importance. He wants to renew your mind so your transformation is apparent to all those who see or meet you. Overcomers are full of testimonies of how God transformed them by changing or renewing their minds. Overcomers are quick to tell people about how God delivered them from self-defeating thinking and mindsets.
Although Overcomers have been transformed, they understand transforming the mind is a life-long process. The more we study the Bible and apply its teachings to our lives, the more transformation we will see. We will grow and mature in our walks with Christ and people will be able to see the light because it will illuminate brighter with each passing day. You are an Overcomer. Let the Lord transform you into the beautiful woman of God He destined you to become.
